"Make Govt DTH payments online" petitions Secretary of Coimbatore Consumer Voice

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Consumer Voice forum has petitioned to the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Linited (TACTV) to digitise the payment options.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Consumer Voice forum has petitioned to the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Linited (TACTV) to digitise the payment options.

The petition stated that the consumers are finding it hard to pay the TACTV bills through the respective cable TV operators. After the change in DTH schemes which allows customisation of choosing channels, it has become very cumbersome for the customers using government DTH to make payments. While the private DTH has user-friendly payment options and subscriptions, the government DTH lacks such options.

"If the customer wants to add or delete any channel from their subscription pack, they are unable to do so, due to lack of online payment options", the petition said.

"As the payment options are not online, people are unable to know if their pack is activated or deactivated. The due date for bill payment is only known when the connection is suspended. Hence, the customers of government DTH have to undergo frequent suspension of service. Many times, the delay by the collection agency also leads to termination of the connection, allege the customers of TACTV", noted the petition.

Hence, the Coimbatore Consumer Cause have urged the Director of TACTV to bring the government cable DTH payment under the 'Digital India’ scheme and enable online payment services.
